Bodyguard Who Went Viral for Protecting Taylor Swift Returns to Israel to Join Army in Fight Against Hamas

This Monday (16), Israel Today journalist Eran Swisa revealed that one of the security guards who protected Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour left the United States to join the Israeli army in the fight against Hamas. The information was confirmed by Variety.

According to Swisa’s report, the bodyguard whose identity was not disclosed was born on a kibbutz in Israel but lived and worked in the United States for years. When he saw Hamas’ attacks on Israeli citizens, he decided to leave North America and return to his country as part of the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces).

It’s unclear whether the security guard was hired by Swift or the stadium where he was spotted. However, throughout the Eras tour, fans of the artist commented on the security guard’s appearance, as well as his attitude towards the singer. Watch the video below:

The former security guard explained to the journalist the reasons for his decision. “I had a great life in the USA. I have an amazing dream job that I love, amazing friends that I call family, and a very comfortable home. I didn’t have to come here… But I couldn’t watch families being massacred in their homes and burned alive! Just because he is Jewish or Israeli,” he said in a statement shared with Variety by Swisa.

The guard concluded: “I’m not just here with Israel. I am here with humanity. Don’t be on the wrong side of history!”

When asked by Variety whether the singer planned to comment on the conflict between Israel and Palestine, Swift’s team declined to comment on the matter. Her representatives also haven’t made it clear whether the artist, who released a film about her tour this week, has made any kind of donation to war victims, as have Swift’s close friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who donated $1 million to help You children in Israel and Gaza.
