Competition for ORF television commentator Andi Knoll: Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz will also commentate on the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 for Austrian Radio – for the ORF media library and the youth culture radio station ORF FM4. The two artists announced this in the episode of their Spotify podcast “Fest & Fluffy”, published on Sunday. An ORF spokesperson confirmed this at the request of the APA.

According to a spokeswoman, Böhmermann (42) and Schulz (49) are traveling to Liverpool. “We are very happy to give back to Austria what it has given us after all these years,” Böhmermann, his second office, said of the campaign. Olli Schulz said, “Finally, what belongs together grows together.”

Due to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Great Britain is the runner-up this time to host the ESC. The BBC is working with Ukraine on this. In 2022, the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra won the ESC in Turin with the title “Stefania”.

The Eurovision final is on the 13th of May. The ESC semi-finals are scheduled for the 9th and 11th of May. Austria plays in the second with female duo Teya & Salena (“Who the hell is Edgar?”) and has yet to qualify for the final. Germany is one of the big donors for the final – as are France, Italy, Spain, the UK and last year’s champions Ukraine.
