At the cabin, Thomas hugs Hope and assures her that everything will be fine. She says that won’t be the case since Liam saw her kiss him. Hope backs away from Thomas, saying Liam warned her, as did her mother, but she insisted everything was fine. She sobs that Thomas was Liam’s biggest threat and she was the one who kissed him and turned her whole world upside down. Thomas believes Liam will get over it and he has made mistakes and she has always forgiven him. She knows it, but he sees this as the ultimate betrayal and files for divorce. Thomas says he’s so sorry and he never wanted to cause her any more pain or heartache. She tells him that it’s not his fault, it’s her fault. She was the one who kissed him.
Hope doesn’t want Thomas to feel guilty about it because it’s weighing on her. Thomas argues she was only concerned with Rome and the success of her line and that he should have kept his distance. Hope admits she wanted to be close to him and has been fighting it for a while. She’s not proud of it, she doesn’t understand it, but she gave in anyway because she knew the risks. She reaffirms that she kissed him and that maybe something is wrong with her. He says that’s true, and she’s one of the most loving and dedicated… She cuts him off and cries that she doesn’t feel the same way now. What did she possibly destroy her family and marriage for?

Thomas insists she made a mistake, which doesn’t take away from her years of being the greatest wife and mother. He feels like Liam just needs time. Hope says Liam has already gone to Steffy and wants her again, it’s the same old song and dance with Liam and his split feelings. However, when she is with him, he makes her feel like the only woman in the world. That’s why she will always remember them both in Rome, she says. Thomas asks what she says. Hope replies, “Liam wants Steffy and I want the man who only wants me. I want you, Thomas.” She pulls him into a passionate kiss, to which he responds. They stop and stare at each other.

In the Spencer office, Wyatt hears that Liam is there and asks how things went with Hope. Liam gives him a look and Wyatt says, “That’s good, hm.” Liam says Hope apologized and asked for forgiveness. Wyatt still can’t believe she put her marriage on the line but wonders if he is able to forgive her and save her marriage. Liam needs to understand why she did that in the first place and she can’t explain why she kissed Thomas. Wyatt reminds him that he and Hope made mistakes in the past and forgave each other for the sake of their marriage and children.

Liam admits he doesn’t want to be the guy who keeps wondering if his wife is cheating on him. Wyatt thinks Liam is pretty determined, so what does he say? Liam says he still wants a divorce. Wyatt asks his brother if this is really the right thing for him, he really wants a divorce. Did he really think that through? Liam doesn’t want a divorce, he doesn’t want this, but the kiss happened. Wyatt reminds him that he always said that his love and Hope’s could overcome anything. Liam says anything but Thomas that he was aware of. He says, like it or not, Hope has feelings for Thomas.

At the cliff house, Steffy folds laundry while contemplating Liam kissing her and telling him to respect her and their marriage. Finn comes home from work, gives Steffy a kiss and asks if she’s okay. He’s sure Thomas’ secret must be catching her. She admits Thomas was surprised when she told him she knew about the kiss and Thomas asked her not to say anything. However, she did tell him that she knew about Liam’s kiss, which baffled him.
Steffy explains that Thomas was shocked when Liam saw them and that he didn’t know Liam was in Rome. He claims that he and Hope were affected by the success of the show and the city. Finn says Thomas is a grown man and could have stopped Hope or he just wouldn’t have been alone with Hope in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Steffy doesn’t see this ending well as Liam always blamed Thomas, but now she realizes it’s about Hope. Finn asks if she told Thomas that she knew he didn’t initiate the kiss. She did, and she realizes that Thomas has changed, but he now wants to protect Hope at all costs. She feels like he’s grown up, but Finn says that might be a sign of how deep his feelings for Hope are. Steffy believes the feelings are mutual. He says he was just thinking about how grateful he is to come to her house every day and they kiss, but Steffy can’t stop thinking about Liam kissing her.
