Bolivia in the Crosshairs of Yankee Hegemonism › World ›

Once again in Bolivia, the oligarchy allied with the US government and the Yankee transnationals are waving the banner of division, rupture and a return to the past of exclusion, inequality and oblivion.

Disguised under the guise of the “right”, the soft coup narrative seeks to destabilize the country, tear down the pillars that support the plurinational state and foster chaos leading to a new coup.

Not surprisingly, Santa Cruz Governor Luis Fernando Camacho has recently resumed his proposal for a “federal Bolivia,” a project aimed at “opposing the constitutional model of a plurinational state.”

The plurinational state was consecrated by the 2009 constitution, Magna Carta, promulgated by President Evo Morales (2006-2019), proclaiming a “decentralized and autonomous” Bolivia.

Santa Cruz’s conservative sectors defend the idea of federalism, even with an autonomy proposal that failed in the 2007-2008 Constituent Assembly.

The national strike called in the department of Santa Cruz (East) to demand the holding of the 2023 census is taking place without its organizers listening to reasons, despite the government’s constant commitment to dialogue and understanding.

The President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, inaugurated the work of the technical table on the night of Friday November 5th, which will have the purpose of setting the date of the new national census.

At the opening ceremony in the city of Trinidad, capital of the Beni department, the Bolivian president condemned attempts by the far right to overthrow him.

“Unfortunately, this way of looking at the census issue has led to a political approach, as it has not only been used as a tool to destabilize the government, but also to try to overthrow it,” said the Bolivian leader.

The population and housing census to be carried out every ten years, as laid down in the Bolivian constitution, was announced for November 16, 2022, but was postponed to 2024 for technical reasons.

The results of the population register are used for the reallocation of parliamentary seats in each region and the redistribution of public funds, which is now based on data from the last census of 2012.

Recently, President Arce has denounced the opposition’s real coup intentions behind destabilizing actions such as the indefinite ministerial strike called by Governor Luis Fernando Camacho on October 22 in Santa Cruz.

According to Bolivian political scientist and sociologist Eduardo Paz Rada, this is an action aimed at bringing about the overthrow of the government.

“For the vast majority of people in Santa Cruz, this is an action by Santa Cruz’s oligarchic elites who want to create a conflict of a political nature,” the analyst told Telescope.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Movement for Socialism and former Bolivian president, Evo Morales, asked the organization’s militancy to avoid provocations by those seeking to incite violence in the country.

WHO PULLS THE STRENGTHS AND MOVES THE CRADLE

The Argentine-born social researcher and writer Marcelo Colussi wrote: “We must never forget that the enemy is not the Lord’s bodyguard: he is still the Lord”.

The United States is losing ground, its projected dream of an American 21st century fading. It’s no secret to anyone today that the People’s Republic of China, with its booming economy, is on course to become the number one world power by 2030 at the latest, and Russia is not far behind.

The confluence of international interests between these two powerful nations and their allies makes them an influential alternative front to US power, growing in weight south of the Rio Grande.

In these circumstances, the United States believes it needs more than ever to control its “backyard” in order to subdue the continent’s troubled nations.

On the geopolitical map of the USA, Bolivia plays an extremely important role due to its geographic position and the enormous wealth of its soil.

As such, this nation is targeted for major unconventional warfare actions to promote regime change that favors the interests of the Empire. If we follow step by step what is happening today in the South American sister nation, we will see that the tactics of 2019 are being repeated.

It is therefore not surprising that the latest US report presented by the Joe Biden government once again reiterates the farce that the then candidate and also President Evo Morales (2006-2019) committed electoral fraud in October 2019 to stay in power, a version supported by the Organization of American States (OAS).

This document represents support for the de facto government that was funded, supported and defended by the US, and strong encouragement for the opposition to the Luis Arce government.
