"Bonnie without Clyde" : At 78, she robs a bank for the third time

Bonnie Gooch was arrested at the wheel of her car on Wednesday April 5th. She had just robbed a bank.

In the United States, in Missouri, in Pleasant Hill, Bonnie Gooch managed the third robbery of her “career”, 46 years after the first, in California in 1977. The second had already taken place in Missouri in 2020, at Lee’s Summit. She then escaped from prison and served her sentence on probation until 2021.

Bonnie Gooch (78) will be charged with bank robbery for the third time in her life this week. The first was in 1977. This time she handed over a robbery ticket asking for 13,000 small bills and added, “Thanks, sorry I didn’t mean to scare you”. At least she was polite. Pleasant… pic.twitter.com/Pm2mtwf9np

Police were alerted by the bank’s security system around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arriving at the scene, police found the thief in her car. The banknotes (several thousand dollars) were on the passenger seat. “When an elderly woman’s hands came out of the car and she was the one driving the suspect vehicle, it was a bit shocking. We weren’t sure if we had arrested the right person,” Fox4’s police chief testified.

Bonnie Gooch peacefully robbed the bank wearing a black mask, sunglasses and plastic gloves. She approached the clerk and slipped him a note that said, “I need 13,000 small bills,” and pounded on the counter for quick service. When she left, she slipped him a note: “Thank you, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

His bail was set at $25,000 (cash).
