(ANSA) – BELGRADE, DECEMBER 31 – A strong earthquake of magnitude 4.7 was recorded in Bosnia-Herzegovina at 9:43 p.m. yesterday. Local media reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was about 15 kilometers northwest of downtown Zenica and a hypocenter nine kilometers deep. There have been no reports of human damage so far, although some debris has fallen from old buildings in the city and other small surrounding towns, where there have also been power outages. The shock was felt as far away as Serbia. Shortly before the earthquake in Zenica, part of the Croatian Muslim Federation, another magnitude 3 earthquake was recorded in Banja Luka, the capital of Republika Srpska, Bosnia-Herzegovina's other unit.
