Schultz, 37, who has been dating Bret Easton Ellis for 14 years, reportedly went through a non-violent psychotic break.

He allegedly entered an apartment in West Hollywood thinking it was the apartment he shared with Ellis, but it was a neighboring apartment. His inmate tried to get him to leave, but he “did not respond,” they said.

Schultz was handcuffed in the apartment where he lives with his 59-year-old lover, who appeared to be in distress, according to American media. The defendant was taken to a psychiatric ward.

At this point, there is nothing to indicate that Ellis had anything to do with the alleged burglary that her boyfriend is accused of.

In addition to the novel “American Psycho,” which was made into a film starring Christian Bale, Bret Easton Ellis wrote the books “Less Than Zero” and “The Rules of Attraction.” These were also transferred to the big screen.
