Since 2022, Pitt has been in a bitter legal battle with Jolie over her former French winery Château Miraval.

Pitt and Jolie made their romance public in 2004 and were married for two years before the actress filed for divorce in 2016. The two share sons Maddox (22), Pax (20) and Knox (15) as well as daughters Zahara (18) and Shiloh (20). 17 and Vivienne, 15.

Although Pitt and Jolie became legally single in 2019, the former couple has not yet finalized their divorce due to the ongoing court battle over custody of their children and the Chateau Miraval dispute.

In July, Angelina Jolie's former investment company, Nouvel Pitt, accused the Château Miraval of “looting” and seizing assets in court documents obtained by Fox News Digital at the time. The documents alleged that Pitt was the mastermind of a “vengeful campaign” to “loot” the profitable wine business since Jolie first filed for divorce.

According to the documents, Pitt was accused of “hijacking” Château Miraval and “wasting” the company's assets on unnecessary renovation projects, including spending $1 million on swimming pool renovations, the court documents said.

A source familiar with the litigation told Fox News Digital in July that Pitt had poured “millions” into the company over the past decade and called the “looter” accusation from Nouvel's legal team “absurd.”

The former couple acquired a controlling interest in Château Miraval in 2008 and spent time at the property throughout their relationship. At the time of purchase, Pitt owned a 60% share of the winery, while Jolie's share was 40%. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star gave Jolie an additional 10% stake in December 2013.

Pitt has alleged that Jolie intentionally tried to “cause him harm” by selling her interest in the former couple's vineyard, in an amended statement of claim previously obtained by Fox News Digital. The “Moneyball” actor claimed that Jolie sold her shares in the vineyard without his consent, which they had previously agreed to as a condition.

When Pitt originally filed the lawsuit in February 2022, the actor said he was unaware of the sale until he learned about it through media reports. He accused Jolie of working “secretly” to keep him “in the dark” about the sale.

However, a source close to Jolie previously told Fox News Digital that Pitt had been given the opportunity to buy her shares in Château Miraval.

“The reality is that Pitt refused to complete the Miraval sale with Jolie unless she agreed to be silenced about the abuse as he demanded that $8.5 million be withheld to protect her to force silence,” the insider said. “Ms Jolie had no interest in talking about what happened.”

Jolie previously accused Pitt of physically abusing her and her children during an altercation on a private jet. Pitt denied the allegations and no charges were filed against him after the FBI conducted an investigation in 2016.
