Brad Pitt just received a handsome sum from the sale of his Los Angeles home. According to TMZ, the 59-year-old actor sold the gorgeous mansion in the Los Feliz neighborhood for $39 million (approx. CA$53 million) after buying it for $1.7 million in 1994.
Built in 1910 by an oil baron, this Hollywood Hills residence was previously occupied by actress Cassandra Peterson, best known for her role in Elvira, Mistress of Darkness. Legendary singer and guitarist Jimi Hendrix is said to have written his song May This Be Love there in the 1960s.
Brad Pitt will have spent almost 30 years of his life in this house, which served as his main residence from 2005 to 2016, especially during the time he started a family with actress Angelina Jolie.
The main wing of the home spans 6,700 square feet. In particular, there is a cinema room, a skateboard track, a reception room and a garage for motorcycles. The home is surrounded by a large, lush California style garden and koi pond.
Brad Pitt put his home up for sale in January for $45 million. According to TMZ, he decided to leave the Los Angeles area to settle in Carmel, Northern California.
