Though Lewis Hamilton may be sitting in his backyard at Silverstone, it was Brad Pitt who was the star of the paddock at last weekend’s British Grand Prix.
The American actor was there at the start of filming for a film set in the world of Formula 1. What particularly caught our attention was the presence of an 11th garage in the paddock for the fictional Apex team that will take center stage in the film, which was produced by Apple TV and Jerry Bruckheimer, one of the Seattle Kraken’s owners.
Pitt raced at Silverstone circuit over the weekend and was on the grid for Sunday’s race. He wore a black and white suit in the colors of the Apex team.
Pitt stars in the feature film, which is due out in late 2024 or early 2025, alongside British actor Damson Idris.

Nice stay
Pitt, 59, appears to have enjoyed his foray into the heart of Formula One.
“I’m having the time of my life,” he told Sky Sports TV. It’s really great to be here, we’re having so much fun. Everyone has been great with us, the teams have opened their doors to us, the FIA have helped us a lot, as has Formula 1 and Stefano Domenicali.
It has to be said that Pitt and director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) were even able to attend the pre-race briefing with the pilots.
“It was probably the best briefing we’ve ever had,” said Lewis Hamilton, who watched others.
The seven-time world champion is co-producing the film.

The Apex team’s two single-seaters are F2s converted to F1s by Mercedes, and we see nothing but fire. We saw the cars on the start line and they took part in part of the formation lap.
Pitt’s passage made a strong impression on the pilots, who are stars themselves.
“It was a bit surreal hanging out with a global star,” said George Russell. But when you have the opportunity to meet Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or Roger Federer, you realize that they are normal people. He joked a lot and seemed to be having fun. I can’t wait to see what the film will bring.
