The 2023 Met Gala will take place on Monday evening (1). The traditional party at the Metropolitan Museum in New York is one of the most popular events in the world and usually brings together celebrities who parade down the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in chic, glamorous, whimsical, overthetop outfits or with political messages of art.
The Met Gala first took place in 1948 and for decades was reserved for New York’s high society. Wintour, the high priestess of fashion, took over the event in 1995 and turned it into a catwalk for the rich and famous and a social media extravaganza.
