According to health officials, 245 deaths from the coronavirus were reported in the past 24 hours, along with 600,002 deaths from Covid-19, making Brazil the second-biggest country with the most deaths from the coronavirus in the world, ahead of the United States.

27,270 new infections were recorded in the last day, bringing the total number of Covid cases registered in the South American country to 29,975,165, the country with the third highest number of infections worldwide after the US and India.

The weekly average of Covid-19 victims fell to 205 a day in the last week, the lowest since January 18, when it fell to 183 daily deaths.

The average number of cases, for its part, fell from 189,526 infections per day in early February to 24,701 daily infections, the lowest since January 7 (23,243 daily cases).

The decrease in the number of deaths and infections is attributed to the progress of the vaccination campaign in Brazil, where 161 million people have already completed the full vaccination cycle, which is 75.6 percent of the population.
