If you use social media, you may know what the phrase “Attenzione pickpocket” is all about, a catchphrase of sorts from Italian Monica Poli that became a meme after a video of her chasing thieves and protecting tourists went viral Danger warns of robberies. Reviving the meme, Brazilian influencer Gustavo Tubarão decided to accompany his wife on a mission and shared the footage on social media.
During a trip to Venice, Italy, Tubarão said he met the Italian woman online. “Guys, I’m in a country I don’t know, in a city I’ve never been to, with a woman I met on the Internet, looking for a thief. I have no idea where I am,” Gustavo says in the video. During the tour, Monica shows which places are the riskiest and says that the thieves there are well prepared.
The Brazilian also praised how the woman makes the “rounds” looking for pickpockets. “Keep looking like an eagle. Don’t wink at anything,” he says. He also emphasized the Italian’s readiness. “He also praises her for her character. “I can not run anymore. “This woman is a hero,” he emphasized.
At the climax of the video, the two found a thief and ran after her. As Monica shouts her catchphrase, Tubarão adds a Brazilian touch to the moment. “Attention, pickpocket! Thief is 157!”, referring to Article 157 of the Penal Code, which regulates robberies.
The video was popular with followers who made funny comments on the episode. “This woman is Batman, fighting crime where the state can’t handle it,” joked one profile. “The most random thing I’ve seen in my life. “A Brazilian hero teams up with an Italian heroine to clear the streets of bandits,” another pointed out.
Many people praised the duo’s performance and suggested Monica to come to Brazil. “Let’s crowdfund and pay for her ticket to Brazil,” one profile suggested. “Gustavo take them to RJ they will have a lot of work, I guarantee there will be no shortage of content for them,” joked another.
