Gaza authorities released on Friday a new list of names of civilians who can leave the territory following an agreement between Israel, Egypt and Hamas (3). Once again, Brazilians were left out of the relationship.
In total, the list contains 571 names of people with citizenship of the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Indonesia, Germany and Mexico. This is the third group of foreigners allowed to leave the territory since the conflict began.
The first list of almost 500 names was published on Wednesday (1st). In total, the Brazilian embassy in Palestine is monitoring the situation of 34 people who want to leave the region.
“Another sad day, but it will be our turn,” Brazilian Ambassador to Palestine Alessandro Candeas wrote in a group with Brazilians in Gaza.
Brazilian Ambassador to Egypt Paulino Franco de Carvalho Neto explained that everything depends on the approval of the Israeli authorities.
“It is not a problem for the Egyptian government, as we have been told more than once, to immediately authorize the entry of Brazilians into Egypt, with the proviso that they then go to Brazil,” he explained.
A Brazilian Air Force aircraft, which is already on Egyptian territory, will be used to transport the group back to Brazil.
Brazilians waiting in Gaza said the government had sent a statement promising admission with medical care, social assistance and legalization of immigration.
There is still no forecast as to when Brazilians will be allowed to leave the region.
