Brazilians arrested in US on 10 counts of child molestation

A 21yearold Brazilian man was arrested in the US state of Florida on suspicion of sexual violence against children.

What happened:

Vitor CC Pinto was identified as the perpetrator of the crimes from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect resided in the city of Kissimmee, also in Florida, as of 2020.

Vitor told police that he had befriended several Brazilian families in the region where he lived and offered to babysit children. as a nanny.

Investigations assume that the man sexually abused two boys he cared for. The young man was arrested on April 6 after issuing a warrant for his arrest on 10 counts of sexual assault and 10 counts of “lewd and obscene sexual abuse” of children, US television network WESH and the Fox News website reported.

The case was reported to police on June 5 after an 11yearold boy revealed he had been sexually abused by Vitor on several occasions since he was nine.. The abuse is said to have taken place almost daily for three years.

The child said she was bullied by the suspect. The reportedly claimed that the victim would punish him for his homosexuality if he spoke to his parents about the sexual abuse, investigators said, according to US television network WFTV 9.

During the investigation, an 8yearold boy reportedly told police that he was also a victim. There were several episodes of obscene and libidinal behavior by the suspect.

According to investigators, what both cases have in common is that Vitor was considered a “family member”. where she worked as a nanny. According to the newspaper O Globo, the man is from Itatiba.

Other allegations and trial:

This week, investigators added more charges to Vitor’s criminal record during a court hearing. 10 of them for voyeurism (person obtaining sexual pleasure through observation) and one for inciting a child to commit a crime. The motives for the new allegations were not explained.

At the hearing, a judge set bail for Vitor at US$111,000 (approximately R$534,500). and instructed the suspect not to contact the victims or witnesses in the case. It was not known whether the investigator paid the amount. There is no date for the next hearing.

Investigators believe there may have been other victims. Therefore, the investigation into the case is ongoing and the agency is open to receiving new complaints.
