Brazil’s disgusting and outrageous propaganda

The Brazilian President has just made outrageous statements about the war in Ukraine. For him, responsibility for the war lies with Ukraine and Russia. He also accuses Europe and the United States of doing nothing to stop the war. As a bonus, it offers the brokerage of Brazil joined with that of China and the United Arab Emirates. There’s a limit to mistaking people for fools.

Lula da Silva supports Russian propaganda that Ukraine is partly responsible for the invasion of its territory. It is wrong.

In fact, Vladimir Putin is angry because Ukrainians have freed themselves from the yoke of Moscow and chosen the path of democracy. Putin wants to rebuild the Russian empire and strengthen dictatorships, primarily his own.

However, independence and freedom are not mistakes. In addition, Americans and most European peoples have also chosen independence and freedom. The same goes for the Brazilians.

Cynical and disgusting

To suggest that dictatorships like those in China and the United Arab Emirates act as arbiters for a people striving for freedom and democracy is cynical and disgusting.

Blaming the United States for doing nothing to stop the war in Ukraine is also a huge mistake. This war was waged by Russia, which expected to quickly conquer all Ukrainian territory. But the Ukrainian army stopped the Russian army.

Only later did the United States and its allies overwhelmingly support Ukraine. Without this help, Ukraine would be just a memory.

Saying that Europe and the United States are doing nothing to stop the war reflects Russian propaganda, which wants Ukraine to stop receiving arms so that it can be better conquered.

price of freedom

Yes, but, say international relations businessmen, this war is expensive. It contributes to inflation worldwide, it hurts trade. Seriously, do you know many wars that don’t have this effect?

The question of small leaders like Lula da Silva, Donald Trump or Emmanuel Macron is always the same: How much is it worth preserving democracies and freedoms? The answer will always be the same: there is no point in being rich and living in chains. In addition, the great advances of mankind are not taking place in dictatorships, but in democracies.

The war in Ukraine is expensive and will remain so. Dictatorships want to convince democracies that the game is not worth the candle. On the other hand. Talk to people who lived under dictatorships, for example people from Eastern Europe. They wouldn’t step under Moscow’s boot again or live in a democracy for anything in the world. Solidarity between democracies is essential for their survival.
