While Brendan Fraser is getting some serious Oscar buzz for his highly anticipated comeback film The Whale, the actor also remains busy on the small screen, returning as Robotman in Season 4 of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol.
The streaming service has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming season, with the first half of the season debuting on December 8th.
The new trailer (via HBO Max YouTube) teases that Fraser’s character Robotman has now returned to his human form, aka Cliff Steele.

The trailer begins with Willoughby Kipling (Mark Sheppard) saying, “Something very big and very dangerous is coming.”
“Immortus is real, and it’s coming. As we speak, we’re literally wandering into the end of days,” says Kipling…although Robotman, Madam Rogue (Michelle Gomez) and Rita Farr (April Bowlby) can’t help but stop laughing.
“I think he’s serious,” adds one of the characters, while Madam Rogue explains what Immortus really is.
Dangerous: The trailer begins with Willoughby Kipling (Mark Sheppard) saying, “Something very big and very dangerous is coming.”
Laughs: “Immortus is real, and it’s coming. As we speak, we’re literally wandering into the end of days,” says Kipling…although Robotman, Madam Rogue (Michelle Gomez) and Rita Farr (April Bowlby) can’t help but stop laughing
“The Immortus Project. It’s the pursuit of immortality,” says Rogue as some of the characters watch old footage in a movie theater.
“Haven’t you always wondered why you’ve looked exactly the same for decades?” Willoughby asks as we watch Negative Man (Matt Bomer) being hit by a blast of energy.
“Forget your longevity, that’s it. It’s all over for you guys,” Willoughby says before getting out of the car, while Negative Man adds, “We have to stop this before it’s too late.”

Rita hesitates before finally moaning and giving in with a “Good” as we see Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) say, “That’s Code Red.”
We get a brief glimpse of Robotman’s human form, seemingly quite confused as he looks into a mirror.
Robot Man: What are you saying? Do you want to save the world?’ asks Madam Rogue Rita as we watch footage of Robotman and the others showing off their unique abilities
Good: Rita hesitates before finally moaning and giving in with a “Good” as we see Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) say, “That’s Code Red.”
Human Robot: We see a brief glimpse of Robotman’s human form, seemingly quite confused as he looks into a mirror
Rita says they “have to face our past” while we also see Negative Man in his former human form while Madam Rogue hints at a bit of time travel.
“We have to go back to where it all began,” she says…since they are all shown as younger versions of themselves, while Cyborg (Jovian Wade) freaks out when he feels the braces.
The trailer ends with a series of action-packed shots as Crazy Jane says, “Holy shit, we’re doomed,” while Robotman replies, “At the very least, you have to have an orgasm before you die!”
The final shot shows the entire team walking together…as Robotman freezes and Rita gives him a little kick to get him going as he replies “Thanks!”
