Mr. Trudeau praised Mr. Mulroney's ability to make policy without falling into excessive partisanship: He has “respect” for elected officials, including those of other parties, the prime minister noted, perhaps to contrast with his current rival, the Conservative Pierre, make Poilievre.

“It is important for our system that there are opposites of ideas and points of view, but to maintain this respect and [de] Don't fall for personal attacks, I think this is a reminder that will benefit us all in these more divisive moments [sic] Politics,” Mr. Trudeau said.

He also shared that there will be “opportunities.” [sic] for Canadians to express their gratitude and [d’]“pay their respects to the former prime minister at the funeral.”

On Parliament Hill, MPs in the House of Commons agreed this morning to postpone work planned for that day. Parliament will resume its work in mid-March.

Brian Mulroney died on Thursday at the age of 84.
