Bringing L’Osstidcho back to life

More than 50 years later L’Osstidchoa documentary is being prepared about the legendary show that brought together Yvon Deschamps, Robert Charlebois, Louise Forestier and Mouffe.

” Everyone is here. We will relive the show through their eyes,” says director Louis-Philippe Eno, who is at the forefront of this documentary film project that will tell the story of L’Osstidcho. It refers to the four original artists This show, presented in 1968 and 1969: singer Robert Charlebois, comedian Yvon Deschamps, singer Louise Forestier and actress and lyricist Mouffe.

The title of this film, which focuses on this hybrid show (combination of music and comedy numbers) that has become a landmark in Quebec’s cultural history, is still being kept secret. The film is currently in the editing phase.

Encapsulate collective memory

With the same goal of “encapsulating the collective memory”, the 42-year-old director is also working on a second documentary film project. This focuses exclusively on Robert Charlebois.

Louis-Philippe Eno began following the 78-year-old singer to collect his secrets from his home in Guadeloupe and that of Morin-Heights, Quebec, just before the pandemic. The duo will also soon fly to France, where the artist will be giving concerts in Paris.

The director believes that “we have a duty of collective memory to fulfill”. So does Robert Charlebois’ wife, Laurence, who he could count on to convince the artist that a documentary starring him was of public interest thinks.

Louis-Philippe Eno has already worked on a number of projects with the singer of I love you like crazy. It was he who recorded the Robert en CharleboisScope show (recipient of the Félix for the 2020 show of the year) and the Charlebois à Ducharme concert, which was broadcast on Télé-Québec.

A well-known producer in the Quebec music world, Eno has directed Les Trois Accords music videos for over 20 years, including the latest internet.

He also works regularly with singer Dumas, his great friend since he was 18 years old.

He is also the man behind music videos for Les Cowboys Fringants, including L’Amérique pleure and the film that followed it. America Cries – The Movie, a large-scale concert event recorded in the great outdoors and composed of 16 songs drawn from the band’s rich repertoire.
