Britain’s Got Talent star The Witch’s true identity is FINALLY revealed

The identity of Britain’s Got Talent band The Witch has finally been revealed, more than a year after appearing on the show.

The creepy character, who reached the semifinals of series 15, terrified judge Amanda Holden with her spooky lines on the show last year.

Their act has also been described as the “scariest” of all stunts, in which they handed out apples to the jury, one of which exploded into mealworms and roaches.

There has been much speculation as to who the real face behind the mask is, with theories circulating that it was presenter Stephen Mulherne.

Also, magician Marc Spelmann, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent under the stage name X, has been plagued by speculation he has returned to the show as The Witch.

However, he has now denied claims on YouTube that he was behind the prosthetics, revealing the character’s true identity.

He said the man behind the character is actor Martin Portlock and that the star himself has been sworn to secrecy about his true identity.

Marc explained, “There’s an incredible actor named Martin Portlock.” He was also sworn to secrecy, he wasn’t allowed to tell anyone he was the witch.’

Martin himself then appeared on camera to text his fellow wizards from his phone, confirming he was behind the prosthesis.

He said, “Hi Marc, how are you Spellman?” Although the witch was a somewhat unusual character, no one really knew who she was.

‘I heard everyone thought it was you!’ I hope you and the family are well and the lovely heat is a little too hot for my liking.’

Martin also confirmed the big reveal on The Witch’s Instagram page by penning a lengthy post revealing the closely guarded secret.

He wrote: “Feel free to share.” It’s no longer a secret. So… a year ago today I performed on stage for television. Although it was a little secret last year, my identity as “The Witch” was unknown!
