Britney Spears continues to upset her 15-year-old son Jayden after he opened up about their strained relationship in a lengthy interview last week.
If you missed it, Jayden – who Britney shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline and 16-year-old Preston – sat down with ITV News on Friday to open up about the “time and effort” it will take to make it Fixing things between himself and his mom.
For a little background, Britney and Kevin — who split in 2007, a year before their controversial conservatory went into effect — share custody of Jayden and Preston. Britney has long provided the DJ with $20,000 a month for each boy on child support, while also covering her school, insurance and clothing costs.
In 2018, Kevin infuriated fans when he demanded an increase in those payments from Britney, who was still living under the restrictions of the law.
More recently, the DJ sparked backlash when he opened up about Britney’s relationship with her sons during an interview with the Chron. He claimed that Jayden and Preston were uncomfortable with the singer’s minimally censored Instagram nude photos, while suggesting that her father, Jamie Spears, “saved her life” – despite Britney’s numerous allegations that he had abused her.
Kevin also spoke about Jayden and Preston’s decision not to see Britney again, telling the outlet that they “made the decision” not to go to her and Sam Asghari’s wedding in June. “The guys have decided that they don’t see her at the moment,” he said. “It’s been a few months since you’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to their wedding.”
Jayden elaborated further during his ITV interview last week, saying that while he was “really happy” for Britney and Sam, he and Preston didn’t feel comfortable attending their wedding because he didn’t see how it ” “It ended well” would be conditions.” “She didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was just Preston and I, I just don’t see how this situation would have turned out well,” he said.

“I just want her to be better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again,” he added, before defending Britney’s parents and saying that Jamie “doesn’t deserve all the hate he’s getting in the media.” Jayden said of his grandfather, “I love him with all my heart. He was just trying to be a father.”
Jamie also discussed Britney’s social media posts and hinted that her content is an attention game. “Social media helps her… Well, if that’s what she wants to do, then that’s what she wants to do. I’m not going to hate her for that,” he said. “At the same time, she should realize whatever is keeping her from loving her family.”
“It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get attention,” he continued. “It has been going on for years and years and years and there is a high possibility that this will never stop, but I hope for myself that it will stop.”
Shortly after Jayden’s bombastic ITV interview went live, Britney shared a lengthy statement on Instagram, urging him and Preston to speak to her in person.
“It saddens me deeply to hear his outcry that I didn’t live up to his expectations of a mother,” she wrote. “If you could stop for a second, remember where you’re from!!! I hope you can look in the mirror and remember…You are my child and always will be!!!”
“I would love nothing more than to see the two of you face to face,” she added, before giving a quick slap to Kevin, who, she said, “hasn’t had a job in 15 years” and has weed “every day.” smokes.
Britney’s response quickly drew a flood of positive comments online, as supporters of the pop star praised her for speaking the truth.
Now, the singer has once again expressed her grievances to Jayden, sharing a two-minute audio recording on her Instagram page on Monday.
In the clip, which has since been deleted from the platform, Britney began, “I totally understand why my family would have a problem with me doing my own thing. Maybe because I never had it.”
“I’m sure it’s a little bit different and a little bit easier since I’m not responsible for three 18-wheel trucks with tour gear and thousands of people that I’m responsible for on the tour,” she said.
“So Jayden, while you’re undermining my behavior, like my whole family has always done, with, ‘I hope she’s better, I’ll pray for her,'” she continued, before asking, “Pray for what?” I keep working so I can pay mom’s legal fees and her house? Do you want me to keep getting better so I can keep giving your father 40,000 a month?”
Britney added that Jayden – who turns 16 in less than a week – will probably have “nothing” from her in two years.
“Or did you choose to be hateful because it’s supposed to be over in two years and you won’t get anything?” she asked.
Britney then claimed that she had previously looked “straight in the eye” at Jayden and asked him, “How come I can’t see you guys anymore? Or just see each other more often?” In response, she said the teen said to her, “Mom, it’s going to change.”
“You and your brother used to leave me at that house two hours early,” the pop star said. “Preston was sleeping, you were playing the piano the whole time. And if I don’t shower you with gifts and great food and play a bloody saint, it’s never been good enough.”
“I have done nothing wrong and I know I am not perfect but the love I have given you and how much I adore you and your diplomacy [of] talk like paw paw [Jamie Spears]… ‘This can be fixed, I’ll see when she gets better?’ Jayden, it was a miracle I could even have a normal conversation when I left this place,” she said.
Britney continued: “You were just like my other family. You secretly loved looking at me like that [if] something was wrong with me.”
“I didn’t need a family hiding shit in houses and whispering shit behind my back. I feel unconsciously guilty because I paid for everything in both houses. I needed unconditional love and support,” she concluded.
