In an Instagram post published on Saturday, the singer revealed that she had written a new song after the publication of her new book “The Woman In Me” last week.
She captioned a shot from her 2001 music video “Overprotected,” “I wrote a new song! »
She apparently revealed that the song would be called “Hate You to Like Me,” but clarified that she has “nothing to do with anyone” and is “just narcissistic in a self-righteous, smug way.” “It’s about generating interest by exposing your ego with your eyes closed, because I’ve heard important people do that these days,” she added.
Although the star appeared on “Hold Me Closer” with Elton John and “Mind Your Business” with Will.i.am, Britney Spears has not released any solo music since her release from her conservatorship in November 2021. In the comments on her post, fans noted the similarity of the title to Selena Gomez’s 2019 hit “Lose You to Love Me.”
The singer apparently called out the “Only Murders In The Building” star in October 2022. In one post, Britney Spears apparently responded to a 2016 speech in which Selena Gomez claimed on Instagram that she “didn’t want to see (girls’) bodies.” : “They say ‘I would NOT do that,’ but these are the same women who make $4 million budget videos about sucking and licking homemade ice cream!” »
