Over the weekend, articles in the Sun and Chron claimed the former dancer told them he was concerned the Toxic singer might be using crystal meth. Addressing the articles in an Instagram post on Sunday, she told her followers that it was “heartbreaking” to see Kevin Federline and her sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, make such claims.
“The fact that people are saying things that aren’t true is so sad… Maybe it’s not even them saying things like that because it doesn’t make sense to me that they would say that,” she wrote. “So you go behind my back and talk about me… It breaks my heart and it’s so down… I’ve always felt like the media hassles me… It’s sad because everyone stays there like it’s normal, lies.” to invent so… Why am I being told that I need to calm down and get on with all this??? When they all go so deep??? I hope it’s just because the media is full of hate and neither Kevin nor Preston said anything about it.”
In an Instagram statement, Kevin Federline said he “cut ties with journalist Daphne Barak” in March after a string of headline-grabbing interviews ensured the new meth stories were made up. “It saddens our family that Daphne Barak and Erbil Gunasti have decided to fabricate lies and publicize the grief our family has endured and the trauma of our teenage children in the Chron and The Sun,” he wrote. His lies and attempts to exploit minors are clickbait and another heinous example of where sadly some journalism has perished today.”
Britney Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, also sent a letter to the Chron urging its editors to “immediately remove this false and defamatory story and conduct an internal investigation into this matter and the abuse of Britney and her children.” .
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married from 2004 to 2007. She recently gave him permission to move to Hawaii with her sons.
