According to a TMZ report on Friday, the Toxic singer flew to French Polynesia to rest.
The 41-year-old is reportedly staying at the famous Brando Hotel on a private island where she won’t be bothered by onlookers, sources said.
The pop singer teased a glimpse of her island retreat on social media.
This follows a very poor start to the fall as she was criticized for dancing with knives in her Los Angeles area home. Britney insisted the knives were just prop knives, but was still hit with a welfare check.
It’s not a good time for her family either. Her father Jamie, 71, was recently hospitalized with an infection that required surgery and her sister Jamie Lynn, 32, was shockingly axed from Dancing With The Stars this week. Britney becomes estranged from them during an ongoing family feud.

Britney’s video showed a male friend sitting next to her on the trip, and the insider dismissed speculation he was a potential new boyfriend after she split from husband Sam Asghari over the summer – insisting that the unnamed man was just is an “acquaintance”.
Now it has been reported that friends of the singer accompanied her on a trip to French Polynesia, where they stayed on the island bought by Hollywood actor Marlon Brando in the 1960s.
The luxury resort is named after him.
A source told TMZ.com that Britney needed some “serious rest and relaxation” after coming under fire for a video of her dancing around her house waving knives, so she headed out with her friends the way to the Brando Resort.
The singer previously sparked concern after posting a video on Instagram in which she appeared to dance around her California mansion with a pair of knives.
Last week, Britney called welfare checks a “joke.”
Authorities had visited her home in California after the pop singer shared an Instagram video of herself dancing with knives, which she has since claimed was “fake.”
The songbird, who shared a second clip of herself with the kitchen knives after the welfare check, uploaded a photo of a ballerina wearing pointe shoes balancing on knives on stage alongside a lengthy caption on Saturday.
“Is that welfare check joke in the news again??? “Come on, America…we’re cooler, aren’t we???’ began the performer.
“The officers came to my house and said they wouldn’t leave until they spoke to me while people were doing four-minute performances with them,” she wrote, adding adamantly: “I’m getting an apology.”
Spears then added, “I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now… ENOUGH! Don’t talk about it, come on, let’s do it!!!”

She concluded by continuing to criticize the authorities who showed up at her home, typing, “People need to be responsible for their actions! It’s about power for cops.”
Earlier this week, TMZ reported that the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department received a call on Wednesday from a person who expressed “concern” about the singer’s recent social media posts – including her appearance with knives.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” officials decided to stop by Britney’s $7.4 million mansion to pick up a welfare check.
Officers were able to confirm that the pop singer was fine and left her home shortly afterwards. However, other sources told the medium that “several people called the police after Britney posted the knife video…”
TMZ later reported that Wednesday’s call was actually made by the LAPD Smart Team – a mental assessment unit. Authorities went to the star’s home after the caller assured them she wasn’t just a fan.
Spears’ attorney contacted officers after the welfare check, and authorities said they visited Britney’s home because the caller knew the singer.
The “Baby One More Time” hitmaker initially sparked concern when she uploaded a video of herself dancing with two knives for her 42.1 million followers on Monday.

The singer was seen wearing a polka dot crop top and white bikini bottoms as she showed off some of her favorite dance moves while using the kitchen utensils.

However, her followers expressed concern over the clip, while others noted that her adorable puppies in the background also looked slightly disturbed.
After the welfare check, she uploaded another video in which she performed another choreography with the knives. She wore a different outfit that consisted of a white cropped top and pink drawstring bikini bottoms.
Britney explained: “I know I scared everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop Shop in LA.”

Back in January, police conducted a welfare check on the singer after she caused concern by deleting Instagram for the seventh time in less than a year.
Officers were subsequently dispatched to the Toxic singer’s home in Thousand Oaks and determined that “there was no reason to believe she was in danger.”
Spears was reportedly “fascinated with knives,” TMZ reported in May, adding that the singer slept “with a knife under her bed” for fear of “re-institutionalization.”
