With great success all over the world, The woman in me by Britney Spears sold 2,000 copies in French in Quebec in one week. The 41-year-old pop star’s memoir has every chance of becoming a huge success bestseller in Belle Province.
Britney Spears’ book, released October 24, traces her story, from her colorful beginnings to her much-publicized descent into hell.

“We are satisfied with the start of sales for this title. “It is selling at the rate expected by the sales team,” insists David Bérard, sales manager at Hachette Canada, the French-language distributor of the book, which has distributed 11,000 copies in several sales locations in Quebec.
A book that has sold about 3,000 copies is considered a bestseller in Quebec.
As of November 4, La femme en moi has also moved up to fourth place in the Renaud Bray ranking, the largest network of French-language bookstores in North America with nearly 30 stores.
At Indigo, one of Canada’s leading bookstores, the original version of “The Woman in Me” can be found on the “bestseller list”.
At the time of writing, publisher Simon & Schuster Canada had not yet responded to our request for information about sales of the original English version of The Woman in Me in Quebec.
A worldwide success
“The Woman in Me” is also a huge success around the world.
On Wednesday, Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, announced that the book had sold 1.1 million copies in one week in all formats in the United States. This number includes the audio version, narrated by actress Michelle Williams, pre-orders, and physical and digital books.
A rare feat that was also achieved in January by Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare,” which sold 1.6 million copies in the United States in a week.
This week, “The Woman in Me” debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list. Britney Spears enthusiastically said on social media: “It means everything to me. I love you all!”
In a press release, Gallery Books also announced estimated sales of 2.4 million print copies worldwide. The work has been translated into 26 languages.
As the holiday season approaches, we can imagine Britney Spears’ memoir will be found in several Christmas stockings.
