Britney Spears issued an explanation as to why she deleted her Instagram account last week.
Fans initially thought something was wrong, leading some to call the police to conduct a spa visit at her home.
But in reality, Britney says she left because of the negativity and criticism people keep throwing at her on the app.
“I closed my Instagram because too many people said I look like an idiot who dances and that I look crazy,” she said wrote on twitter. “Honestly, I did my best, but it bothered me when people talk freely about it on TV … yeah, it hurt my feelings.”
Britney added that she was also really “shocked” when she saw how people reacted when she deleted her account. “It was really inappropriate,” she continued. “I adore my fans but those who did are not real fans and I honestly felt like it was a way to make me look bad!!!”
Britney insisted she is “alive, she’s fine, [and] healthy,” before sharing her appreciation for her “real fans” and expressing her desire to get out of the situation.
“[I’m] ready to start a new day – a new morning anew!!!” she wrote, adding, “To my true fans, God bless you 🙏🏻!!!”
