“Most of the book is from 20 years ago,” she continued. “I’ve moved on and from here it’s a nice new beginning!!!”

The pop star added: “I’m here to make it this way for the rest of my life!!! Either way, this is the end and shit happens!!!’

Spears wrote that while she wanted the baby and “dreamed of starting a family” with Justin, who was also 19 at the time, he ultimately “wasn’t ready” for the responsibilities of fatherhood.

In an excerpt published by People, the singer recalled: “It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy. “I loved Justin so much. I always expected that one day we would start a family together. This was just going to happen a lot sooner than I expected.

“He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, we were way too young. “I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.

“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left to me alone, I would never have done it. And yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.’
