Britney Spears wrote about her mother in her memoir The Woman In Me.
It turns out that the Toxic singer has a major conflict with mother Lynne Spears, 68.
The Circus hitmaker, who admitted she was heartbroken over her split from Justin Timberlake, particularly takes issue with the way her mother spoke about her breakdown in her 2008 book Through the Storm wrote in 2007.
The mother of two believes her mother took advantage of her fame.
A source told Us Weekly, “Britney felt like she completely broke down when Lynne released her book and called the timing incredible.”
Lynne appeared on the Today show in 2008 while promoting her book to talk about the “challenges” her family faced due to Britney’s fame.

“I thought about everything that happened for hours,” Lynne told Meredith Vieira in September 2008.
“It was a whirlwind. “It’s been a wild ride for everyone,” she added.
In her memoir, the Toxic Pony singer wrote about how upset she was with her mother talking about “the darkest times in her life” and “making money” from her book.
This all led to her wondering if she was as “evil” as her mother told everyone she was.
In 2022, Britney claimed that her mother was the driving force in helping her father, Jamie Spears, 71, put into effect the conservatorship she was under for 13 years.
“A woman pitched the idea to my dad and my mom actually helped him implement it and made it all happen,” Britney said in a now-deleted video on YouTube.
“Basically everything was prepared. There were no medications in my body. No alcohol. No nothing. It was pure abuse.’
The “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer also said that she is angrier at her mother than her father over the conservatorship.

Britney felt betrayed by her mother and sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, especially for not helping her during her time as a conservator, while fans who were part of the #FreeBritney movement fought relentlessly for her.
“To me, it was like they secretly and sincerely liked that I was the bad guy – like I was messed up, and somehow they just liked it that way.” Why else weren’t they standing on my doorstep and saying, “Baby, get in the car. Let’s go.”
