A sixth loss and an offense that can barely make it into double figures is making Broncos country pretty churned.
Well, we knew today’s #broncos The game was probably a defensive fight with few points, but the offensive after preparing for 2 weeks #Titans, well below average. Injuries played a part, but patterns/mistakes this season cannot be ignored. Changes seem to be on the horizon

Jeff Saturday and his first play caller topped the Broncos’ pointing average of the season in their first game.

So excited some even pine for Pat Shurmur.
This offense makes Pat Shurmur look like Sean Mcvay

The Broncos’ second-half offense:
punt
punt
punt
punt
punt

And once again it is totally wasted.
A historically impressive defense saddled with a historically terrible offense.
I just can’t deal with it. #broncos

The 131 points the Broncos have scored in nine games is the second fewest in franchise history, behind only the 125 points the 1966 team scored.
It comes as the Broncos have conceded just 149 points, the 14th-least by that mark in team history.

Because again and again, game after game, run after run, the defense does something.
Things that actually help the offense.
In six series, the Broncos defense has held the Titans:
0 points
2 first downs
46 yards in 22 games
Play 2.1 yards per pass
2.0 yards per carry—Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) November 13, 2022
The Broncos’ defense remains incredible.

It didn’t help the offense that the offensive line was basically a rotation of third-string players, or that their top wide receivers and running backs are all injured.
How many times has Russ been hit today? Feels like 20+.

The Broncos are in:
Left tackle #3 (Bolles, then Fleming, now Anderson)
Center #3 (Cushenberry, then Glasgow, now Wattenberg)
Right Tackle #3 (Fleming, then Turner, now Bailey)And 3 of their top 4 WRs (Patrick, Jeudy, Hamler) are unavailable. As does RB1 (Williams).

But as Andrew Mason also explained, this bad offense and good defense thing isn’t just a game or a few games.
It’s literally been the MO of the Broncos since 2016.
The thing is, it’s not just about today. It’s not about a single frustrating, injury-ridden failure. It’s about the fact that we’ve seen the same types of low offense, stout D losses over… and over… and over… for 6 years.

As frustration mounts, calls for head coach (and some for QB) changes roll in.
Like it or not, Russell Wilson is going nowhere. His contract stays here so this team can figure out how it will become valuable over the next four to five years.
But his head coach is certainly in the hot seat and it would do Nathaniel Hackett well to change a few things if he wants any chance of keeping his job.
