The limited edition KIIS Drive Show, titled Will & Brooke Boney, aims to deliver a healthy dose of gossip, daily news and celebrity interviews.

Meanwhile, Brooke is keen to return to radio after getting her big break with Triple J many years ago.

In addition to her other duties on the show, she vowed to continue the show’s comedic tradition of pranking Woody’s father Steve on his behalf.

“Will and I will have great pleasure laughing at him in the jungle from the comfort of our posh radio studios,” she said.

“I don’t have half as many food intolerances as Woody, so the show’s snacking game is definitely going to step up.”

Brooke joined Channel Nine’s Today breakfast program in 2019 as an entertainment reporter.

She had worked at Triple J as a weekday morning news anchor.

It comes after there was a reshuffle in Nine’s breakfast program last month, when Boney took over Alex Cullen’s role as news anchor while he retired to focus solely on sport.

While the Nine Network issued a statement supporting Cullen as a key member of the show’s cast, New Idea reported that the switching roles had created “tensions” between Cullen and Boney.

“You can cut the air with a knife,” a source told the magazine.

“Alex was coming back from tennis coverage of the Australian Open and Brooke was sitting in his chair. [He] caught it in the chin but it has made everyone feel jittery.
