American actress Brooke Shields revealed this Wednesday that a powerful Hollywood executive was the one who sexually abused her about 30 years ago.
“I’m angrier now than I was then,” she told People magazine.
Shields first spoke about the abuse she suffered growing up in the Lana Wilson documentary.Brooke Shields: Pretty Baby, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and that this upcoming April 3rd arrives on the Hulu platform.
However, the “The Blue Lagoon” actress hadn’t mentioned that the sexual assault she suffered came from a Hollywood executive. “I thought no one would believe me,” he said now.

Shields recounted that the abuse happened when she was at the “low point” of her career and that she agreed to attend a dinner that ended with the man taking her to her hotel room with the apology she demanded because she thought she would get a job from there a cab.
At that time he sexually abused her. The fact that she was “frozen” without the strength to fight caused her a sense of guilt that stayed with her for years.
“He kept telling me, ‘I shouldn’t have done that, why did I go up with him? I shouldn’t have had a drink at that dinner,” Shields said.
The actress added that one of her motivations for telling her own story now was to think of women who, like her, have felt guilt and shame for going through a situation like this.
“Doing the documentary and seeing the whole story makes me think it’s a miracle she survived,” added the actress, who is married and has two daughters.
The film also talks about the sexualization she has faced since childhood, her complex relationship with her mother and her journey of empowerment. Additionally, it critiques the way society sexualizes girls and objectifies women.
