Behind the facade of an illustrious career and relationship with former No. 1 tennis player Andre Agassi, Brooke Shields was challenged and struggled.
While promoting her new documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, the 57-year-old model and actress revealed that Agassi, to whom she was married for two years, was “stubborn” after guest-starring on the sitcom Friends was” in 1996.
“Andre was in the audience supporting me and he stormed out,” Shields recalled in an interview with The New Yorker of the show’s taping. “He said, ‘Everyone makes fun of me. You made a fool of me with that behavior.'”
As a result, Shields says Agassi “smashed all his trophies.”

“Who wins for this? That’s just — don’t,” she said of his reaction.

BROOKE SHIELDS REVEALS WHY HER DAUGHTERS WERE ANGRY AT HER NEW DOCUMENTARY
“In the scene I’m supposed to lick Joey’s fingers because they’re genius hands and I want to devour them and I’m a nut. [LeBlanc] was sweet – he was like, ‘I washed my hands and they’re all clean.’ I thought, ‘I had a mint!’”

Shields recalls her character’s overt demeanor being almost too powerful for the scene.
“I throw my head back into that cackle. We did it at rehearsals and they said, ‘It’s too crazy. Do not do it.’ And I asked for it. “It’s so funny. It just makes her crazier. And she’s pretty, so she must be really crazy.” And they said, ‘No, no.’ We did the first take and it was fine. And then, on the second take, they yell, ‘Signs! Put it back in!’”

After Agassi expressed his frustration at the scene, Shields recalls being confused.
“I say, ‘It’s comedy! What’s wrong with you?’ I later learned that he was addicted to crystal meth at the time, so irrational behavior must have had something to do with it.”
“It was stubborn behavior,” she said of Agassi’s response. “It co-opted [‘Friends’] emotional for me because suddenly my focus went to him,” she said.
