Browns: Myles Garrett speaks after Jadeveon Clowney calls him out – Browns Wire

Meanwhile, it’s not new news that defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has slammed his current team, the Cleveland Browns, and teammate and bookend Myles Garrett. In an article by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland dot com, Clowney stated that the Browns are more interested in putting Garrett in the Hall of Fame than they are in winning games and that they don’t want him to lose their All-Pro defensive end trumped.

Garrett, along with his coach Chris Kiffin and his head coach Kevin Stefanski, were frequently asked today about Clowney’s comments and whether he would welcome his teammate back. Garrett replied, “We only want volunteers, no hostages.” The Pro Bowl defensive end also had more to say in its media availability. Here are some other quotes that caught my eye.

“I think everyone is concerned about winning games. I am against saying it that way. I think the guys in our room and really the guys in the organization are so focused this season on winning, giving everyone good matchups and trying to give everyone a path to victory. It’s not just about making me or someone look good. We’re all trying to find a way to win and we’re all trying to find success on the field because everyone’s trying to move forward into the postseason and the Super Bowl.

“It was always cordial. Always fun to talk to him. There has never been a problem. It was never personal; I don’t take his comments personally. It’s just the nature of the animal.”

“I would not say that. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things. For some, it’s better to wait and not get bogged down with injuries, and some may linger and take away from your production and film. Whether you stay here for the long term or go somewhere else, you don’t want to put out a bad movie, but also whether you can play at a high level and believe in what you can do is still at an elite level, then keep doing what you are do hurt or not or hurt or not.

“Did I know he was unhappy? I knew he was frustrated. We were all frustrated because we didn’t win. I know he wants to produce more. Damn, I want to produce more. We all want to do more. You all feel like you can do more, especially if you’re not winning. Everyone feels that when you come here and the result stays the same or you give up something you think you could have gotten. Everyone has that feeling of disappointment and regret for some tracks, and everyone deals with it differently.

“I think we have some playmakers who are proud of their skills and want to make games and big personalities. I think when you have that you have to try to keep it within the group, try to keep it within that culture and not let it leak out. I think there will be instances of that, but I feel like as the years go by and we start to make things how we want it, how detailed and disciplined we want it in that dressing room, and I think it will only get better.”
