Bruce Willis loses his “Joie de vivre” and his “language skills” is in the midst of decline due to the type of dementia he suffers from. This is the update on his health from a friend, film and television producer Glenn Gordon Caron.
Last year, 68-year-old Bruce retired from show business because he was struggling with a brain disorder “Aphasia”, which leads to a deterioration in the patient’s linguistic abilities. Then, in March, his family announced that his illness had “progressed” and that he had been diagnosed frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
According to a review in the Chron, Glenn Gordon Caron recounted his experience visiting the film star in the midst of his illness.
“I feel like he knows who I am within a minute or three,” Glenn said in his devastating Page Six interview. “He’s not entirely verbal, he used to be a voracious reader, he didn’t want anyone to know, and Now he doesn’t read anymore. “All of those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he’s still Bruce,” he added.
He said: “When you’re with him you know it’s Bruce and you’re grateful he’s there, but the joy of life is gone“he regretted.
Bruce is currently cared for by his wife Emma Heming, with whom he shares his two youngest daughters Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9).
He also has three adult daughters: Rumer (35), Scout (32) and Tallulah (29) with his ex-wife Demi Moore, who remains very friendly with both him and Emma.
