In an interview with the New York Post newspaper, the producer described his relationship with the artist, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in February this year. “I tried very hard to stay in his life [sua doença] It’s so overwhelming that if you’ve ever spent any time with Bruce Willis, there’s no one who has more zest for life than him. He loved life,” he said.

“That’s my feeling in the first three minutes [das nossas conversas] he knows who I am. He is not entirely verbal; He was a voracious reader he didn’t want anyone to know and he doesn’t read anymore. All of those language skills are no longer available to him, but he’s still Bruce. When you’re with him, you know he’s Bruce and you’re grateful he’s there, but the joy of life is lost.”

Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 and had to stop acting. Earlier this year, the family shared a statement updating the actor’s health: “Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a diagnosis of dementia. Unfortunately, communication difficulties are just a symptom of the illness he is facing.”

Career

Bruce Willis appeared opposite Cybill Shepherd in the television series Cat and Mouse, for which he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe in 1987. He became an instant cult figure when he played the role of fearless police officer John McClane in The Cat and the Mouse and Die Hard (1988), a film that became a box office success.

After voicing Baby Mikey in the hit comedy “Look Who’s Talking” (1989) with John Travolta, he returned in 1994 to share the screen with an actor and airline pilot in the acclaimed feature film “Pulp Fiction: A Time of Violence” to share by Quentin Tarantino.

Bruce Willis had a successful career as a hero in action films in the 1990s with titles such as 12 Monkeys, Armageddon and The Fifth Element.

However, in 1999, he took a major turn in his career when he played a child psychologist in the acclaimed thriller The Sixth Sense. The following year, the actor received another Emmy for his participation in the series “Friends”.

He was born on March 19, 1955 and formed one of the most famous couples in the entertainment industry in the 1990s with fellow actress Demi Moore. The two stayed together for 13 years and had three daughters (Rumer, Tallulah and Scout).

The actor has been married to Emma Heming since 2009, with whom he has two other daughters, Evelyn and Mabel.
