Bruce Willis’ battle with frontotemporal dementia
He was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in early 2023, almost a year after he announced his retirement from acting due to initially diagnosed aphasia.
Since then, his family has continued to share updates about his condition. Recently, his wife Emma Heming, who has daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, with the actor, said in an interview with Today that it was “hard to know” whether her husband was aware of her condition.
“It is difficult for the person diagnosed and it is also difficult for the family. And it’s no different for Bruce, me or our daughters. “When they say it’s a family disease, it really is,” he said.
