Surprise! Bruna Marquezine and Xolo Maridueña were the first attractions to descend on the CCXP’s Thunder Stage this Saturday.
The duo came to promote Blue Beetle, a new DC Comics movie hitting theaters in 2023.
Bruna was welcomed by the audience and was delighted to share news about the film for the first time in her own country. She said it was an honor to be a part of the project and that she felt at home during the filming.
“When I was cast I went a week without sleeping, without eating, without knowing anything, until a video call with our director. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, I grew a lot professionally and personally.”
She also said that the director, Angel Manoel Soto, was broadly receptive: “He made me feel at home from day one. We had a lot of Latinos in the cast and crew, so I felt very comfortable, like family. Friendships and relationships.” beautifully emerged from this work.”
Excitedly, Xolo who is in love with Brazil scratched out good Portuguese and said his favorite word was “gossip”. Praising Bruna, the actor said there was no other person who could play the character Jenny:
“It was clear from day one that Bruna would be the one who would play Jenny. Bruna is an amazing woman!”
Finally, Marquezine said he couldn’t reveal much about Jenny, but he continued:
“She’s a woman I admire a lot, it was an honor to play her. She is a very strong woman who cares about others.”
