Bryan Kohberger “broke into a co-worker’s apartment” and “installed cameras” to spy on her

Suspected killer Bryan Kohberger is said to have broken into a colleague’s flat and carried objects around – to get her to ask him for help before she installs surveillance cameras.

According to Dateline, the 28-year-old criminology student had become friends with a woman at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.

The alleged incident came months before the brutal murders of college students Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, on November 13 last year.

Kohberger is suspected of breaking into the property and moving objects around but stealing nothing – which led to his colleague contacting him rather than the police.

The woman, who could not be identified, asked the alleged killer to come and help her, and he reportedly suggested installing a surveillance system at the property.

Former FBI profiler Greg Cooper claims the incident was a “step in the development” of Kohberger’s alleged crime – an indication that he “upped the stakes”.

Dateline claims he offered to connect her to the video network, to which she agreed, although authorities now believe he could have accessed it remotely because he knew her Wi-Fi password.

Former FBI profiler Greg Cooper claims the incident was a “step in the development” of Kohberger’s alleged crime – an indication that he “upped the stakes”.

He told Dateline, “I’m assuming he orchestrated the whole thing, he didn’t necessarily see her as a potential victim.”

“But he arranged for her to come to him and he can help her.” It’s another level of power, domination and control over another person.

“The heroic image he can portray — you have that problem. I’m here to solve the problem for you and make it better for you.”

The NBC special also revealed that Kohberger reportedly bought a K-Bar knife and sheath on April 22 — before moving to Washington to attend university.

He was a graduate student at DeSales University in Pennsylvania, but current sources claim he bought the knife – which police say is the murder weapon – and took it with him when he moved.

Cooper added, “He had this fantasy of thinking about committing crimes with that knife for a long time and he needed to become familiar with it and comfortable with it.”

Other sources say Kohberger may have been at the Kings Road property where the murders took place when the four women were not there.

The police were repeatedly called to the “party house” in Moscow, but the residents were not always there.

Cooper claims he “walked into a group of people” to “watch, monitor and imagine,” adding that he knew exactly where everyone was sleeping.

This comes after Kohberger was charged with four counts of counts of murder and one count of burglary last week.

He will be charged at 9am Monday morning, with the Latah District Clerk confirming to the hearing will go ahead.

The suspected killer was extradited from Pennsylvania to Idaho in January but was not formally charged with the four counts of murder and burglary.

That means the surviving roommates don’t have to face Kohberger unless he pleads not guilty, which would mean the case would end up in court.

A grand jury hearing is not held in open court as 16 members of the public hear prosecution evidence.

The defendant and his legal team are not allowed to attend the hearing, but Kohberger’s legal team will receive a transcript of the proceedings.

A gag banning anyone connected to the case from speaking publicly also remains in effect — though an appeal to have that ban lifted will be heard on May 25 on behalf of the Associated Press and the Goncalves family.
