Bryce Dallas Howard Says She Was Paid Less Than Chris Pratt for ‘Jurassic World’ Movies

The actress told Insider that she was paid “so much less” than her co-star Chris Pratt for her work on the Jurassic World films, which were released in 2015, 2018 and 2022.

“When I first started negotiating for ‘Jurassic,’ it was 2014 and it was a different world and I was at a huge disadvantage,” she said. “And unfortunately you have to sign up for three films and that’s how the deals are set.”

Eventually, she said, she discussed the inequality with Pratt, who took action to get his co-star on equal terms in other franchise-related opportunities like games and theme park rides.

“He literally said to me, ‘You don’t have to do anything. I’ll do all the negotiations. We’ll get paid right away and you don’t have to think about it, Bryce,” Howard said. “And I love him so much for it. I really do because I’ve been paid more for things like this than I’ve ever been paid for the film.”

CNN has reached out to Howard’s rep for further comment.

In the films, Howard plays Claire Dearing, the operations manager of Jurassic World, and Pratt plays Owen Grady, a velociraptor expert and dinosaur guide.

Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, grossed an estimated $143.3 million in its opening weekend.
