“Build your career at IKEA”: The company is trying to attract workers

IKEA wants to attract employees by pursuing career opportunities after a survey found that 85% of Canadians place more importance on “goal-driven employers”.

“As we expand our business in Canada, including opening a new small store in downtown Scarborough this summer, we are seeking qualified talent while building a lasting relationship with our current employees,” said CEO and Interim Director of Sustainability at IKEA Canada, Tanja Fratangeli.

The company shared the stories of some of its employees on Tuesday as part of the Build your career with IKEA campaign.

With these stories, the Swedish furniture store chain wants to show the different ways to make a career at IKEA.

“At IKEA, our mission is our superpower. We strive to be an employer that lives its values ​​every day. Whether it’s planting trees, cooking meals for our community or marching across the country with pride, our people come together around ideas we all believe in,” said Tanya Bevington, Director of Communications at IKEA Canada.

A poll-based campaign

This campaign was launched when the results of a survey commissioned by IKEA Canada were released by Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

In particular, we learn that 85% of respondents believe it is important to have an employer focused on goals, a majority are looking for a company that allows them to work in different sectors (67%), and still more want to acquire new knowledge (77%).

The probe was conducted among 1,500 Canadians between April 14 and 16.
