Promoting Rio Luísa Sonza and her song “Chico,” which reached number one on Spotify Brazil, became one of the most discussed topics on social media. The whole controversy started when the singer’s fans declared that she was the first Brazilian artist to put a bossa nova song at the top of the most played songs. Even Caetano Veloso dealt with the topic and when asked, the singer attested that the sound follows the characteristics of the rhythm.
Caetano, 81, commented on the impact in a video posted on social media. “The rhythm guitar plays bossa nova, it seems to me. But MPB is Brazilian pop music… It kind of covers everything. They are very different things. It depends more on who is doing it and where people see that artist.”
Luísa Sonza also released an intimate clip of the song “Chico” on YouTube this Friday (8). The track, which is a hit on social media, recorded 2.3 million streams and ranked 27th on Spotify Global. The composition is dedicated to her friend Chico Veiga and is part of her new album “Escândalo intimate”. Last Sunday (3) he attended his girlfriend’s show at The Town in São Paulo.
