Fox News announced that it has hired Olympic gold medalist and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner as a paid contributor, whose debut appearance is scheduled for Thursday on Sean Hannity’s program.
Jenner, 72, the former Olympic decathlete, ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor of California last year as a Republican. She was defeated by incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, and finished 13th in the recall election.
The network said Jenner, a transgender woman, will offer commentary and analysis on various Fox News Media platforms.

“Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to all of us,” said Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media. “She is a pioneer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of areas that will be a tremendous enrichment for our audiences.”
Jenner won the 1976 Olympic gold medal in the decathlon. She came out as transgender in 2015 and identifies as a woman.
She wrote on her Instagram page, which has 12.7 million followers: “I’m honored to have this unique opportunity to speak directly to @foxnews’ millions of viewers on a range of issues that matter to the American people.”
A native of Mount Kisco, New York, Jenner graduated from Graceland College in Iowa after receiving a football scholarship, but an injury prompted a return to athletics.
Jenner took up the decathlon and just a year later qualified for the 1972 Olympic team by finishing third in the trials and tenth in the Munich Games.
Jenner is a parent and stepmom to 10 children, including Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, with whom she shares E! Network’s long-running reality TV show Keeping Up with The Kardashians, which ended last year.
Just months before she emerged as transgender and appeared on the iconic cover of Vanity Fair in 2015, Jenner was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in California that killed 70-year-old Kim Howe and injured several others.
The Los Angeles County Attorney’s Office declined to pursue criminal charges against Jenner due to insufficient evidence. She later reached separate settlements with the victims of the collision.
