Californian who won the $2 billion Power Ball jackpot displays a vintage Porsche

Powerball billionaire Edwin Castro flaunted his vintage Porsche as he exited a California bank – after losing $29 million on two Los Angeles mansions.

Castro, 30, was spotted Wednesday exiting a Chase bank in Southern California while showing a white envelope while his security guard walked behind him and got into his $250,000 white convertible.

He became overnight rich in February after emerging as the winner of November’s record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot.

The billionaire styled an Under Armor long sleeve top, black loose pants and flip flops while beaming from ear to ear.

Castro seems to be spending wisely. He recently bought a sprawling $4 million home in Los Angeles and another $25 million estate in the Hollywood Hills, where his neighbors will be Ariana Grande and Jimmy Kimmel just days before.

Castro’s life changed when he bought the winning ticket at a local gas station last year.

His identity was revealed at a press conference in February, which he declined to attend in order to remain “private”.

California state law requires lottery winners to disclose their full names whether they choose to or not.

But the billionaire’s life was shown as his multi-million dollar purchases made headlines.

Castro’s latest $4 million Japanese-inspired estate is the latest in his real estate portfolio.

The aesthetically pleasing five bedroom, five bathroom home features manicured gardens and a sun-drenched pool that complement the exterior of the home, while the interior is filled with a host of luxury amenities.

His latest acquisitions include his own home theater, private office, and expensive artworks that are sure to be enhanced given Castro’s hefty new bank balance.

The house in Altadena is a short drive from Castro’s birthplace.

If Castro is fed up with the $4 million estate, he’s only about 20 miles away from his second California complex, which he bought for $25 million just eight days earlier.

His real estate expansion comes after it was revealed that Castro is being sued by a fellow Californian who claims he had the winning ticket and it was stolen from him.

Despite the legal challenge, Castro reportedly demanded the $997 million lump sum payout just last month after receiving the winning ticket in November.

At the time of the win, lottery director Alva Johnson said Castro wished to remain private and had declined an invitation from lottery officials to attend the press conference.

In a prepared statement, Castro said, “As much as I am shocked and thrilled to have won the Powerball drawing, the real winner is the California public school system.”

Public schools in California act as beneficiaries of the state lottery.

This means that the education system received over $156 million as a result of the record-breaking win.
