Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are reportedly not back together despite their PDA-packed performance at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival over the weekend.
The former couple, who were spotted sharing a hot kiss on Friday night, are still just friends, albeit very close, an insider said.
Page Six reported speaking to a source, who told the outlet, “Shawn and Camila remain friends with lots of love and history between them, but they’re not back together.”
The insider went on to explain, “They have kept in touch since their split and decided to meet at Coachella as they both wanted to go.”
When asked about the sensual kiss the former lovers shared, the source claimed it was “a one-off” and “over the course of the night, one thing led to another.”

This news is likely to come as a huge disappointment to many fans of the Bam Bam singer, who posted comments like “My mom and dad are back together” and “GIRL I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND SHAWN!! I hope you are all so happy,” on her Instagram feed.
Camila and Shawn first met in 2014 when Camila was still in the group Fifth Harmony supporting Austin Mahone’s tour.
The friendship they formed on tour later led to a collaboration on the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in November 2015.
Shawn told Rolling Stone that they wrote the hit while touring with Taylor Swift on their 1989 tour.
“We just hung out backstage,” the Stitches artist explained.
“I pulled out my guitar and we just played around and didn’t really think about writing a song.”
The single was a hit, making the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100.
The pair maintained their close friendship after that, releasing a version of Ed Sheeran’s Kiss Me in 2017.

Camila’s latest album, Familia, debuted at number 10 when it was released in April 2022.
The Cuban-American singer is single again after splitting from Lox Club dating app co-founder Austin Kevitch earlier this year.
