Even if unions and the government are not yet on the same wavelength, talks are progressing and an agreement is possible before the holidays, estimates the Federation of Education Unions (FSE).

“Have things progressed since Friday?” Yes. Are we close to reaching a fundamental agreement? NO. Can we still hope to reach an agreement before December 23rd? Surely! », started the president of the union affiliated to the CSQ, Josée Scalabrini, in a message addressed to its members and shared on social networks on Sunday evening.
“If work continues as it has since Friday, we hope that the negotiations could give interesting signals,” she added.

Ms. Scalabrini still asks the government to accept important changes such as the composition of classes and reducing the workload of teachers.
“It's not easy. It's difficult, but our team is determined to make senior management understand what you need to ensure that we keep all of our teachers who are currently legally qualified in the system,” says the president of the FSE CSQ.
“We need air, we need help and that is what we want to convey to the government,” she added.
Josée Scalabrini wants to continue to “work very hard” to push teachers’ demands through the government.
It calls on its members to do their work “properly” until the negotiations are concluded.
