Canada: 5 million bees escape truck

We just learned that on Wednesday, August 30, a truck carrying five million bees was involved in a traffic accident in Burlington, Canada. The insects escaped and motorists were told to drive with their windows closed to avoid incidents.

This Wednesday, a truck with five million bees on board suffered a traffic accident in Canada. The insects were released into the wild, forcing motorists to drive with their windows closed. In order to get this situation under control, police officers and beekeepers were called on site.

“We don’t know exactly how or what happened, but at some point the boxes with the bees and their hives slipped off the trailer and were scattered all over the street (…). “Swarms of bees were flying everywhere,” a regional police officer told CBC News.

The majority of INSECTS recovered

According to Radio-Canada Ontario, a majority of the insects were recovered and returned to their hives. However, tens of thousands of bees still live in the wild.

“It is important for people to understand that honey bees are very gentle and do not attack people unless disturbed,” beekeeper Luc Peters told local media.
