Lavalloise’s “Noise Maker” had indeed stunned Howie Mandel with her bewildering interpretation of a jungle soundscape, prompting the judge to trigger the Golden Buzzer and propelling the singer into the semifinals.

In the most recent episode, which aired on Tuesday night, other Quebecers also managed this feat.

It was the dance group Conversion from Trois-Rivières that delighted the jury with a performance that was as touching as it was technically creative.

As one of the performers explained after their masterful number, the troupe’s 36 dancers moved to the sound of their coach’s son’s heartbeat, recorded during an ultrasound scan.

Shocked by the emotional choreography, Judge Trish Stratus mimicked Mandel’s gesture last week and also hit the golden buzzer.

“Their 36 bodies moved as if they were one. It was absolutely insane,” Stratus commented.

The members of Conversion will therefore return to the show for the semifinals.

Another triumph!
