After glowing Canada has talent Last spring, noisemaker, impersonator and comedian Geneviève Côté once again shone with her singing talent on the stage of this franchise.

This time invited by the French production to take part in the program “France has an incredible talent”, the Laval resident received her pass for the semi-finals again on Tuesday and won a second “Golden Buzzer” for her Sounds from the Amazon jungle in the song Transition by Michel Ducharme.

“Production contacted me after my Golden Buzzer [au Canada] to invite me to France. She asked me to sing the exact same number that I performed at my audition on Canada’s Got Talent,” said Geneviève Côté, who will also compete on America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League after the holidays.

“When I saw Karine Le Marchand’s shoes [approcher la scène]I knew what was going on, so I was already crying (laughing). I cried. I was touched. Just doing this performance is such a profound number that I can feel something inside me. It upsets me,” described the Quebecer.

The jury also described his performance as “shamanic” and “transporting”.

“I was also very happy that Sugar Sammy, a judge from Quebec, made nice comments to me like I knocked him down. “It’s a great honor,” added Geneviève Côté.

Directly to the semi-finals of the competition, the sound artist will present a number inspired by the cinema in her next appearance on the set, which will once again captivate the audience and be full of emotions.

Recall that during her participation in the semi-finals of Canada’s Got Talent, the Quebecois presented a number inspired by the Western Once Upon a Time in the West. After the broadcast, noise engineer Michaël Rancourt publicly lamented the remaining similarities between one of his numbers inspired by the film and that of Lavalloise.

The latter did not want to comment on the situation, but explained that she draws enormous inspiration from American, French and international cinema when creating her numbers.

“There are many imitators who base themselves on the rhythms of films, but I will base myself on the sound effects. I will reconstruct the story of the film chronologically as I compose it. “The smallest sound is stronger than me, I imitate everything,” she explained, adding that the films that touched her made her creation more instinctive.

Geneviève Côté admits she picked up the French accent almost immediately and will return to the set of France Has Incredible Talent in December.

In between filming, she also traveled to Hollywood to compete on “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” where she was one of the top 40 artists featured on the show worldwide.

The Quebecer has also been contacted by several other formats of the Got Talent franchise and major shows and is expected to meet Georgia’s Got Talent noise artist Genadi Tkachenko after the holidays.
