Canadian 5, Devils 2: The Habs impress in New Jersey

The Montreal Canadiens surprised everyone watching Tuesday night with a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center in Newark.

The Habs dominated the Devils early in the game, multiplying scoring chances so well that they opened the scoring at 3:54. of the game thanks to Justin Barron’s third of the season.

Lindy Ruff’s men got revenge for the Montreal team as Jesper Bratt snuck into the Canadiens zone before beating Samuel Montembeault.

Martin St-Louis’ men showed their opportunism in midfield by beating Vitek Vanecek twice in 1min 13s. Those successes were achieved by Johnathan Kovacevic and Nick Suzuki, who fed Barron in the first net.

The Canadian can give a big shout out to Samuel Montembeault who frustrated the Devils players 37 times during the game. The Cerberus was reported on three fumbles by the New Jersey team, including two in the middle period. Interestingly, the Bécancour native reached the milestone of 500 international appearances this season.
