About forty Canadian diplomats in India have been repatriated to the country, Ottawa told us on Wednesday.

The decision came after India threatened to revoke diplomatic privileges of 41 of the 62 diplomats stationed on Indian soil.
This repatriation was done for the “safety” of these Canadians, the minister said.
New Delhi had given Canada until October 10 to repatriate some of its diplomats.
“Canada will not take the same approach with India,” Ms. Joly says.
A few weeks ago, Justin Trudeau announced in the House of Commons his allegations that India played a role in the murder of a Canadian citizen: Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
